The apartment/condo/townhomes in that area have always been home to a large number of LGBT people, and again, the shops and restaurants have been and are very popular with and welcoming to our community. The Dallas Voice offices were on Travis at Fitzhugh until just a few years ago when we moved to Oak Lawn. Just a few blocks away, there were - and are - LGBT bars on Fitzhugh. In the late 80s and early 90s, there was a bar just across Central from where the Apple store is called Desert Moon.
